Driving Through Painville
When the word “pain” is mentioned, one often connects or relates to this word through the lens of their own life experiences. Whether the pain is physical, emotional and or spiritual we will endure it for a season if it has a purpose or a desired outcome. We have difficulty when the pain appears to have no end, purpose or direction. This type of pain can often challenge our faith and promote “why” questions directed toward God. Through these unanswered “why” questions we can begin to believe God is not fair nor just in his treatment of us. Without assistance, many believer’s faith will become damaged and their view of God distorted. When pain is allowed to fester and spread then temptation will often become an answer to addressing, medicating and escaping our pain. Through the pages of this book we will examine maybe a healthier and more God honoring way to address our pain. This world is a difficult and painful place to live. Maybe, just maybe, if we begin to address the pain of the people within our walls then the need to escape and medicate will be met and addressed through the Living Water Love of Christ. The woman at the well was a needy person who sought to fill those voids in the ways of this world. We are all the woman at the well. Let us first receive His Living Water to fill our voids and then we can share that with the hurting world around us. My hope is this book will promote discussion with your church and friends regarding the issue of pain. I hope you will first be challenged personally to address your own pain and then be open to addressing the pain of those around you. I hope you will find some biblically based answers that can be practically applied in how we can effectively address the issue of emotional and spiritual pain. God has a plan and purpose for our lives and that includes the pain of our lives, even the pain that has no perceived purpose, goal or desired ending.
